Statement on the Ethical Use of AI
AI is a tool in my workflow—same category as a spell checker, a code linter, or a search engine. I use it to research faster, draft cleaner, and clear the tedious work, then I rework the output until the prose is mine. And as a certified privacy professional, I take the disclosure question seriously: naming what I use, how I use it, and where the line falls.
Tools & Applications
- Research & Synthesis: Claude, Perplexity
- Drafting & Editing: Claude, Grammarly
- Visual Work: Adobe Firefly, Claude, Nano Banana
- Development & Asset Compilation: Claude
Guiding Principles
- I treat AI as a draft partner—useful for momentum, never the final word.
- I bring my own thesis to the prompt—never outsource the thinking.
- I rewrite, restructure, or scrap output until the voice is mine.
- I name AI’s role when it helped shape something I create.
Guardrails
- Accuracy & Integrity: Factual claims get verified independently.
- Equity: Outputs are critically reviewed for bias.
- Security & Privacy: Confidential and sensitive data stay out of AI tools by default.
- Attribution & Transparency: Clear identification of AI assistance and the role it played.
The model is a useful collaborator. The thinking, the judgment, and final content are my own.
