Accessibility Statement
Website: www.tylerschroeder.net Organization: Tyler Schroeder Statement last updated: May 17, 2026
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Tyler Schroeder is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to all people, including individuals with disabilities. Accessibility is a core value of inclusive digital design, and this site strives to provide an experience that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for every visitor — regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use.
Conformance Status
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the internationally recognized benchmark for digital accessibility and the standard referenced by major legal frameworks including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
Conformance level: We aim for partial to substantial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This site has not undergone a formal third-party accessibility audit; self-assessment and best-effort remediation practices are ongoing.
Applicable Legal Frameworks
This website has been developed with the following laws and frameworks in mind:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — Requires that websites of public accommodations be accessible to people with disabilities. The U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 final rule codifies WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard.
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. § 794d) — Establishes accessibility requirements for electronic and information technology. WCAG 2.1 Level AA aligns with and largely satisfies Section 508 obligations.
- Minnesota State Accessibility Standard (Minn. Stat. § 16E.03) — Minnesota adopted WCAG 2.1 Level AA as its digital accessibility standard, effective July 1, 2024, building on its earlier WCAG 2.0 baseline.
- European Accessibility Act (EAA, Directive 2019/882) — In force for covered services since June 28, 2025. Although this is a personal portfolio website and not a commercial service in the EAA’s primary scope, this statement is structured to align with Annex V information requirements as a matter of best practice and transparency.
- EU Web Accessibility Directive (Directive 2016/2102) — Applicable to EU public sector bodies. Included here as a reference standard whose model accessibility statement practices have informed this document.
- W3C WAI Accessibility Statement Guidance — Best-practice guidance from the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative has been applied throughout.
